Key District Resources

2026-2027 District Calendar
Check out school breaks and holidays before you plan your trip or vacation! Attendance is critical to student success.

2026-2027 Student Handbooks
Huntley 158 student handbooks contain important information about school policies, student expectations, procedures, and available resources. Parents/guardians and students should review the handbook together before the school year begins and refer to it throughout the year for answers to common questions.

Emergency Test Message - 8/17

Huntley 158 uses School Messenger as its mass notification system for routine and emergency communication. A test message will be conducted on Monday, August 17 at 7 PM. All parents/guardians, HHS students and staff should receive an email, text, and automated phone call from the district. Should you not receive the message on the platform desired, please email communications@district158.org

Food Services

Huntley 158 provides breakfast and lunch options for all elementary, middle and high school students. The price for meals is based on a student’s fee status. At the July 16th board of education meeting, the board approved a slight price increase for school lunches for the 2026-27 school year. See below.

2026-27 Meal Prices

Breakfast: $1.75
Lunch: $3.70 ($3.60 in 2025-26)

NEW: My School Menus

Huntley 158 food services will be moving to a new online platform called My School Menus for the 2026-27 school year. My School Menus is a digital, accessible online platform and mobile app that provides interactive breakfast and lunch menus and comprehensive nutrition information about school meals.

By visiting the My School Menus website and/or downloading the free mobile app, parents, staff and students will be able to:

  • View and print breakfast and lunch menus
  • View and filter nutritional information, allergens and ingredients to meet personal dietary needs
  • Translate menus into their preferred language

The transition to My School Menus is still in progress but menus will be available to view prior to the start of school.

Meal and Fee Waivers

Meal and fee waiver applications for the 2026-27 school year may be submitted now. See Forms (under Food Services) on the district website. The list of students receiving state benefits (direct certification) has been released for the 2026-27 school year. Families who qualify will receive a letter in the mail from the district in August. Please contact Richard Reed at rreed@district158.org or Michelle Escudero at mescudero@district158.org with any questions.

Health Reminders

Physical Exams and Immunizations

In accordance with the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) and the Illinois School Code, physical examinations are required for all Huntley 158 students entering pre-school, Kindergarten, 6th and 9th grades, and for students transferring from out-of-state.

  • A current physical is one that was completed within one year of the first day of school. The physical examination must include a record of all immunizations a child has received to date. Visit the Health Requirements page of the District website for information about required immunizations. Physical forms are due in the school health office by the first day of school and preferably by August 1. All incoming freshmen must have a physical on file before picking up their schedule.
  • A sports physical is required for students participating in interscholastic sports. A current sports physical is one that was completed within 13 months of the first practice.

Please keep in mind that if your child has a medical care plan, emergency care plan, or a medication that needs to be given at school, the health office needs those items updated and submitted on a yearly basis.

All health forms are available on the Forms page of the District website (under Students & Families).

For more information about health requirements and to submit medical records to the school electronically, visit Health Requirements . Note: Students who do not submit required health documents by the first day of school may be excluded from school until documentation has been received per Board Policy 7:100.

Registration for the 2026-27 School Year

All returning students must register for the 2026-27 school year. If you have not yet registered your child, please do so by visiting the registration page of the district website.

Registration Fees
Student registration fees for the 2026-27 school year are due October 1 and are now paid through Powerschool. Parents/guardians must have a Powerschool Parent Portal and Web Store account to review and pay registration fees (See below for instructions).

Things to Note:

  • While registration fees can still be paid by going directly to the Web Store, parents/guardians will be prompted to log into their Powerschool Parent Portal first. Should you choose to start from the Web Store, click the gray tile called Powerschool Fees (formerly Registration Fees).
  • Payments made after 10/1 will incur a $50 late fee.

For questions about fees, email fees@district158.org

School Supply Lists

Note: Elementary lists may differ by school. Huntley High School and ECC do not have formal school supply lists. High school students are encouraged to come prepared with materials they are comfortable with to help them best learn in their own style. ECC will provide all needed materials.

Teacher Assignments / Class Schedules

Teacher assignments and class schedules for the 2026-27 school year can be viewed by logging into Powerschool on Wednesday, August 12. Note: Middle and high school students may be able to view tentative class schedules earlier via Class Link but these are not final. Final class schedules will be provided during in-person, back-to-school events, such as material pick-up, in August. Teacher and class information cannot be accessed until registration for the 2026-27 school year is complete and the required medical forms have been submitted.
