Huntley Community School District 158 believes nutritious meals are an important part of helping students learn, grow and thrive. As a participant in the National School Lunch Program, the Huntley 158 food services team is committed to providing healthy meal options that fuel students throughout the school day while meeting USDA nutrition guidelines. We strive to offer balanced meals with a variety of choices that support student health, well-being and success and provide healthy breakfast and lunch options for elementary, middle and high school students.

Huntley 158 partners with My School Menus, a digital, accessible online platform and mobile app, to provide interactive breakfast and lunch menus and comprehensive nutrition information about school meals. With My School Menus, families can:

• View and print breakfast and lunch menus;
• View and filter nutritional information, allergens and ingredients to meet personal dietary needs; and
• Translate menus into 180 different languages

Meal Payment Options

myschoolbucks

Huntley 158 partners with MySchoolBucks to offer families a convenient platform for electronic meal payment. With an account, parents/guardians can make online payments* and monitor account balances. Families may also purchase meals with cash or check. See instructions below for all grade levels:

• Elementary school: Students may bring payment to school and give it to their teacher.
• Middle school: Payment should be dropped off with the cashier in the cafeteria during breakfast (preferred) or lunch. 
• High school: Payment should be dropped off with the cashier in the cafeteria during breakfast (preferred) or lunch.

*MySchoolBucks charges a flat fee of $1.25 for credit or debit card payments less than $50 and $2.50 for credit or debit payments over $50. The maximum amount for a one-time payment is $150.

Fee Waivers

Application for fee waiver form 

In accordance with Board Policy 4:140, a waiver of student fees will be granted to students who qualify. To determine if your family is eligible for a student fee waiver for the current school year, complete the Application for Fee Waiver form (click button above or visit Forms on the district website) and return it along with the specified proof of income to the District Office at:

Note: To be eligible for a waiver of student registration fees, applications must be received within thirty (30) days of the date a child enters school for the current school year. Fees will not be waived until the Application for Fee Waiver form is received, reviewed, and approved. If approved, other fees incurred after the date this application is received by the District will be eligible for a fee waiver.

Free and Reduced Meal Application 

A student’s eligibility for free and reduced-price food services is determined by income eligibility guidelines and family-size income standards set annually by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

Those who feel they are in need are encouraged to complete the Free and Reduced Meal Application. Eligibility requirements, the application process and other required information is made available through a secure, private, online portal. Click the button below to get started. 

Free and Reduced Meal Application

Individuals who do not have access to a computer or are unable to apply online may pick up an application at the District Office (650 Dr. John Burkey Dr., Algonquin, IL). Once the application is processed, parents/guardians will receive a notification letter regarding eligibility status. Note: Families who qualify for free and reduced meals through the direct certification program are notified annually before the start of school each year by the district.
