Meet Alicia Murphy

Alicia Murphy is a Huntley High School Class of 2007 graduate whose passion for communication, curiosity and relationship-building has led her to a successful career in the tech industry while bringing her family back to the Huntley community she proudly calls home.

Murphy graduated from HHS in 2007 and attended Northern Illinois University (NIU). She started in sales roles with known organizations like Salesforce and LinkedIn, then ultimately decided to start getting involved in scaling tech startups. Currently, she leads a team of account executives at a female-founded startup called Hummingbirds (based out of Des Moines, Iowa) that helps connect brands like Olipop, Goodles, Purely Elizabeth & Graza with content creators and influencers.

According to Murphy, HHS’s speech team, theater and communications programs equipped her to develop skills that led to employment at top tier tech organizations throughout her career.

"The community was impactful to me and I realize that even more now. I had great leaders and teachers that mentored me and helped me lean into my strengths. I never knew how many paths not knowing what to do would take me, but curiosity, relationship building skills and a desire to truly learn what makes people tick has helped me find success in my career."

In addition to her exciting career, Murphy is a mother of two and her son is entering 1st grade at Leggee this year. She and her family moved back to Huntley to be closer to family and to have their kids begin their education in a great district.
